Blog: The Stages of APR

April is APR month – a time to recognize the Accreditation in Public Relations.

This month, we are highlighting the APR journeys of three PR professionals: one who will start the accreditation process this year, one who is in the process of earning her APR and finally, one who earned her APR in 2013.  Find out why each is taking, or has taken, the steps to earn the APR or how the APR provides the tools to become successful in the PR field.

Member Spotlight

This month's new member spotlight is on Kennedy Moore! Originally from Chicago, Kennedy moved to St. Louis after completing two B.A.’s in Communication and Black Studies at the University of Missouri - Columbia last May.

Kennedy says, "I hope to explore the many realms of public relations in St. Louis and beyond. As an undergrad, my dream field was PR. Now I am an actual PR professional and I want to connect with and learn from other professionals, through PRSA. I am glad that I came into contact with this organization so early in my career, and excited for the constructive panels, discussions, conferences, webinars, and more that will stem from my membership with PRSA. I hope to become a stronger communicator and PR professional that never stops learning in an ever-changing field."

Kennedy currently works as a public engagement consultant for StratCommRx.
