Join the St. Louis PRSA Chapter and our esteemed guest, Laura Stanton who is a former graphic artist for The Washington Post, as she dives into helping amp up your messaging for a successful PR campaign. By using impactful infographics and data visualization, Laura will share how to grab your audiences’ attention while leaving a lasting impression. Learn how to create attractive designs and utilize intriguing content that delivers consistent results in your storytelling process. 

Our second special guest speaker, Joey Goone of Utopia Entertainment will explain how to create a story map to produce compelling video and ultimately a great story.

About Laura Stanton   

After more than two decades in journalism, Laura Stanton partnered with her writer-husband in 2012 to create LaVidaCo Communications, specializing in telling visual stories in all forms. In addition, she teaches information graphics at the University of Missouri-Columbia as an adjunct professor. She was a graphic artist for The Washington Post for more than 20 years,  where she won numerous awards for her informational graphics, including citations from the Society of Newspaper Design, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Malofiej International Infographics competition. Her work was included in the book "2015 America’s Best Infographics", and was part of a Washington Post series on police use of deadly force that won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. 

About Joey Goone

After graduating from University of Missouri-Columbia, Joey worked in wealth management for five years, and earned top advisor four years consecutively.  An exciting opportunity came along in the family business and Joey never looked back. Since joining his family business, Utopia Entertainment in 2016, Joey’s most notable contribution is expanding Utopia’s services, with emphasis on videography, lighting and production. These additions have helped to more than double the revenue of Utopia in the past two years. Utopia has recently led some of the largest nonprofit events in the Midwest and works with organizations such as United Way, SSM, Citi, Girls on the Run and Camp Rainbow Kids with Cancer. Utopia’s mission, whether through event management or videography—is to help organizations, foundations and companies share & communicate their passions through creative outlets, whether events or media. Joey currently resides in O’Fallon with his girlfriend Stephanie and their child, Chase--- a 7-month-old Cavachon puppy.
