A Note from our President

When reflecting on the last year and all that the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has accomplished, I am filled with pride and admiration. From hosting the inaugural PRSA ImPRession Awards (spearheaded by the amazing, Paul Spooner), to the sold-out Meet the the Media Happy Hour, 2018 was truly an amazing year for our chapter.

Considering how much PRSA accomplishes within just one year, it’s incredibly exciting to be celebrating our 70th year here in St. Louis. It might be difficult to envision a time when PRSA existed without the tools we use today, such as smartphones, computers, the internet (wifi!), or a time when women were not given the rights and opportunities that they have now. Our society, and our chapter, have seen so much growth, change and advancement over the last 70 years, and it is so exciting to be a part of an organization that provides a platform for those in our industry to connect and communicate.

It came as no surprise to me when I Googled the significance of the number 70 and found that it is known to hold “introspection and inner wisdom”. According to numerologists, the number 70 is known to be “perceptive and astute, and represents the ability to analyze problems and find viable solutions”. What a perfect theme for 2019 as both our chapter and city continue to grow and flourish!

Being a part of PRSA the last 7 years has been utterly fulfilling, and I am honored to now serve the chapter as President. As a St. Louis native and someone who is passionate about telling our city’s stories, I look forward to celebrating St. Louis this year. PRSA has been an amazing resource for me and countless members over the last 70 years. Personally, I would not have been able to found my company without the tools, talents and support of PRSA.

There was one last numerological fact that I stumbled upon in my quest that really struck me with its relevance:

“The number 70 tends to be aware of the ambiance of locations and experience as life is lived”.

Our resilient city of St. Louis has provided countless experiences that have inspired each of us to thrive, write, create, communicate and come together as a chapter, to continue being a positive role in our community. As we celebrate PRSA’s 70th year, we are also proud to join the movement in celebrating St. Louis more than ever.
